Grown Your Own Diesel

Yes, we can actually grown our own diesel. What I mean is, instead using fossil fuel lets turn for a green fuel or bio diesel. With the price of oil increasing every year, we should used bio diesel. In our country palm oil being used to make bio diesel. However the new cash crop that we should pay attention is JATROPHA CURCAS or in Malaysia is better known as Jarak Pagar or Jarak Belanda Jatropa curcas is a large erect, perennial, succulent, deciduous shrub, drought resistance, planted for live fencing and erosion control, medicinal product and soap product and a good source of oil for bio-fuel.

Although Jatropha curcas produces lower yield of bio diesel than palm oil, it needs little attention and tending. This plant is a hardy require less or minimal supervision and can be grown in most idle or marginal land areas.

How ever oil produce from Jatropha curcas is not edible, means you cannot eat this oil or used as your frying oil. The chemical component of Jatropha curcas oil quite similar to diesel oil. Thus cars could run on this fuel without much change in design.

After looking at this prospectus , I sure that Jatropha Curcas will the next cash crop. Just imagine that the tractor, fishing boats will be running on this oil. This will benefit a lot to the kampung folks who has a lot of idle land that can grow this cash crop.

What we need, the technology to turn this Jarak Pagar oil into bio diesel !. I think the technology will be simple enough so that the kampung folks can use and make their own bio diesel.
